Fullmetal alchemist is basically about these two brothers the oldest is edward nad the youngest is alphonse. They tried to bring their mother back to life, but it didn't work so it took one of ed's legs and one of his arms. as for al he lost his whole body so ed put his sole into the metal armor. Just to get things clear, Edward is the oldest with the metal arm and leg while alphonse the youngest is in the metal suit.
